SAP and RDSAP form part of the national (UK) methodology for calculating the energy performance of dwellings.
What is RdSAP? - Existing Dwellings
Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure 2005 (Rd SAP) is the Government's official procedure for the generation of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to assess the energy performance rating of dwellings. It supersedes the old NHER calculation and the Elmhurst SAP Lite calculation method, which are now redundant.
Energy Performance Certificates are required for all marketed house sales and rented properties (from October 2008) in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
What is SAP? - Newly Built Dwellings
SAP is the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for calculating the Energy Rating of newly built dwellings.
